Business Professionals of America is the leading CTSO (Career Technical Student Organization) for students pursuing careers in business management, office administration, information technology and other related career fields.

BPA has more than 51,000 members in over 2,300 chapters in 23 states. BPA is a "co-curricular" organization that supports business and information technology educators by offering curriculum based on national standards. Resources and materials are available on-line and designed to be customized to a school's program.

The Workplace Skills Assessment Program (WSAP) prepares students to succeed and assesses real-world business skills and problem solving abilities in finance, management, IT and computer applications. It is BPA's showcase program and facilitates students demonstrating their career skills at regional, state and national conferences.

Outstanding Business Students Travel to Dallas to Participate

At the Business Professionals of America State Leadership Conference

 

Top students from Balmorhea ISD will be attending the Business Professionals of America 2015 State Leadership Conference, in Dallas, Texas, March 4-7, 2015.

Balmorhea High School chapter members will join over 2,500 other conference delegates from across the state to participate in state level business skill competitions, general sessions, and the state officer candidate campaigns and elections.  Besides having the opportunity to excel, they’ll experience Dallas as they visit the city’s exciting sites.

“Students from the Texas Association’s Regional Leadership Conference have qualified to participate at the state level conference.  The conference emphasizes business workforce education and training which members of the local chapter of Business Professionals of America at Balmorhea High School have received,” said chapter advisor, Mary Garcia, who teaches Business.

We have a team and several individuals advancing competitors. Aurora Lopez will be competing in Integrated Office Applications, Aldo Navarrete & Lucas Martinez will be competing in Legal Office Systems. Isaiah Mendoza will be competing in PC Servicing & Troubleshooting. Rowan Vega will be competing in Advanced Spreadsheet Applications, Dora Estrada will be competing in Basic Office Systems and Procedures,.  Avery Mendoza & Joshua Guebara will be competing in Computer Network Technology, PJ Iniguez will be competing in Keyboarding Production,  Rudy Marquez will be competing in Java Programming, Danny Vasquez will be competing in Computer Security, and  Abby Salcido will be competing in Medical Office Procedures. Jana Harbour will be competing in Open Events.

Aldo Navarrete, Abby Salcido, DeMarco Madrid, Rudy Marquez, Rowan Vega, Dora Estrada, Aurora Lopez and Sasha Lozano will be competing in Parliamentary Procedure Team. Please see list below for individual events.
